Anadarko Petroleum (APC) issued an update on the company’s Utica Shale activity in Ohio, where it has 390,000 gross acres under lease. The company has received drilling permits for ten Utica Shale wells.
Anadarko Petroleum has drilled and is producing from three Utica Shale wells and reported that the Brookfield A-3H well has produced 9,500 barrels of oil and 12 million cubic feet of natural gas during its first 20 days on line. (Average of 475 barrels of oil per day) The Spencer A-1H and Spencer A-5H wells produced a combined 20,000 barrels of oil and 37 million cubic feet of natural gas in approximately two months.
Anadarko Petroleum called the initial production results from these three wells “encouraging.” The company is flowing back its fourth well and recently started drilling its fifth well here.
