Rex Energy (REXX) reported that the company has started to drill the company’s first horizontal well into the Utica Shale on its properties in Ohio.
Rex Energy said that the Brace 1H is located at the Warrior prospect in Carroll County, Ohio. The company expects the Brace 1H well to be completed and results available by the second quarter of 2012 conference call in August 2012.
Rex Energy has 15,000 net acres in Carroll County and is acquiring more acreage in Ohio that is exposed to the Utica Shale. The company plans to drill additional two Utica Shale horizontal wells at the Warrior prospect in 2012.
