Washington Township has received sixteen Utica Shale well permits from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources through February 24, 2012. This is the most of any township in the state. Lee Township and Augusta Township are next on the well permit list, with 13 and 8 permits, respectively. East Township and Goshen Township are tied for fourth place, with seven Utica Shale well permits each. The full list is below:
