Gastar Exploration (GST) issued an update on recent development activity targeting the Marcellus Shale on its acreage in Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
Gastar Exploration finished drilling the Wengerd 1H and Wengerd 7H wells in Marshall County, West Virginia, and expects to begin completions operations here in June 2011.
Gastar Exploration is currently operating two rigs in the Marcellus Shale and plans to add a third rig in June 2011. The company’s next well is the Hickory Ridge 2H located in Preston County, West Virginia.
