Cabot Oil and Gas - Marcellus Shale Update - Third Quarter of 2011

Cabot Oil and Gas (COG) issued an operations update for the third quarter of 2011and disclosed additional information on the company’s activity in the Marcellus Shale.  The company recently achieved record production of 517 million cubic feet of natural gas per day during a twenty four period from 94 wells in Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania.

Cabot Oil and Gas said that it put seventeen wells onto production during the third quarter of 2011, and is waiting on infrastructure to fully produce from these wells. Other Marcellus Shale operational achievements during the quarter:

• Reached total depth on a Marcellus Shale well in 12.5 days.
• Sixteen of the top twenty producing wells during the first six months of 2011 belonged to the company (Source: Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection).

Range Resources - Marcellus Shale Third Quarter of 2011 Operational Update

Range Resources (RRC) reported an update on its operations in the Marcellus Shale during the third quarter of 2011.  The company said that current production is 350 million cubic feet of natural gas equivalents per day, and it would meet its year end Marcellus Shale net production target of 400 million cubic feet of natural gas equivalents per day.  

Southwest Pennsylvania

• Drilled 42 wells and placed 28 wells onto production.
• Producing wells in the Marcellus Shale has reached a total of 214.
• Twelve wells waiting on pipeline and 74 wells waiting on completion.

Northeast Pennsylvania

• Drilled 14 wells and placed 10 wells onto production.
• Producing wells in the Marcellus Shale has reached a total of 15.
• Eleven wells waiting on pipeline and 22 wells waiting on completion.

Midstream

Range Resources secured forty million cubic feet per day of cryogenic gas processing capacity, bringing the total to 390 million cubic feet per day.  The company signed an ethane sales agreement with NOVA Chemicals Corporation.

 

Cabot Oil and Gas - Marcellus Shale Update

Cabot Oil and Gas (COG) disclosed the following information on its Marcellus Shale operations as of 9/7/2011.

• Production of 410 million to 430 million cubic feet of natural gas per day from 115 wells (81 horizontal and 35 vertical).
• Twenty one wells are waiting on completion, fourteen wells are waiting on pipeline and eleven are undergoing completion operations.
• Five operated rigs.

2011 Marcellus Shale Program

• Sixty seven wells - 64 horizontal, 3 vertical.
• Average lateral length of 3,750 feet – range from 1,991 feet to 6,176 feet.
• Average of fifteen hydraulic fracturing stages per well – range from 8 to 26 per well.
