Cabot Oil and Gas (COG) issued an operations update for the third quarter of 2011and disclosed additional information on the company’s activity in the Marcellus Shale. The company recently achieved record production of 517 million cubic feet of natural gas per day during a twenty four period from 94 wells in Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania.
Cabot Oil and Gas said that it put seventeen wells onto production during the third quarter of 2011, and is waiting on infrastructure to fully produce from these wells. Other Marcellus Shale operational achievements during the quarter:
- Reached total depth on a Marcellus Shale well in 12.5 days.
- Sixteen of the top twenty producing wells during the first six months of 2011 belonged to the company (Source: Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection).
