Penn Virginia (PVA) reported the production rates of three wells recently completed into the Marcellus Shale on the company’s acreage in Pennsylvania.
Risser #A-1H – peak 24 hour production rate of 3.1 million cubic feet of natural gas per day, and a 72 hour test rate of 2.1 million cubic feet of natural gas per day.
Risser #A-2H - peak 24 hour production rate of 2.8 million cubic feet of natural gas per day, and a 72 hour test rate of 1.7 million cubic feet of natural gas per day.
Dunn #A-1H - peak 24 hour production rate of 4 million cubic feet of natural gas per day, and a 72 hour test rate of 2.7 million cubic feet of natural gas per day.
Penn Virginia said that these wells were located in Potter and Tioga counties and were the first horizontal wells drilled into the Marcellus Shale by the company. The company has one well waiting on completion and plans to conduct vertical well testing on its acreage in the second half of 2011.
