CONSOL Energy (CNX) reported on its operations in the Marcellus Shale during the second quarter of 2010. The company reported total Marcellus Shale production of 2.3 Bcf of natural gas, and drilled five wells, four horizontal and one vertical.
CONSOL Energy said that the NV 17B and NV 17 D wells recently underwent hydraulic fracturing operations and will be turned to sales shortly. CONSOL Energy said that the company’s last five Marcellus Shale wells had estimated ultimate recoveries that ranged from 5.5 to 9.9 Bcf per well.
CONSOL Energy said that all five wells were drilled at the company’s Greene Hill and Nineveh projects in Greene County, Pennsylvania. The company expects to have four rigs operating on its Marcellus Shale leasehold by the end of 2010.
