Cabot Oil and Gas Reports Haynesville Shale Completion

Cabot Oil and Gas (COG) reported the completion of a horizontal well in the Haynesville Shale in St. Augustine County, Texas.

Cabot Oil and Gas said that the King G.U. #1 is currently producing at 19 million cubic feet per day of natural gas. The King G.U. #1 was completed with 14 hydraulic fracturing stages and a 4,487-foot lateral.

Cabot Oil and Gas said that the company is participating in 12 other wells in the Haynesville Shale in 2010. The company said it would have news on three of these wells in the Haynesville Shale during the second quarter of 2010.

Questar Corporation Reports Eight Haynesville Shale Completions

Questar Corporation (STR) reported the results of eight Haynesville Shale wells completed during the fourth quarter of 2009, and the first quarter of 2010. The well names and initial 24 hour production rates are:

Beckett 21H-1 - 20.2 million cubic feet per day

Jimmy Woodard 34H-1 - 22.5 million cubic feet per day

Jimmy Woodard 34H-2 - 23.7 million cubic feet per day

Weyerhaeuser 10H-1 - 13.3 million cubic feet per day

Cupples (12) H-2 - 15.7 million cubic feet per day

Sharp 2H-1 - 16.1 million cubic feet per day

Sample 2H-1 - 14.3 million cubic feet per day

Sample 2H-2 - 14.4 million cubic feet per day

Questar Corporation has 16 Haynesville Shale wells that have been drilled but not yet completed, and 7 wells that are being drilled. The company is operating 7 rigs on its acreage in Louisiana, which now totals 46,000 net acres.

Haynesville Shale - Documentary

I recently came across a new documentary being made about the Haynesville Shale and the sudden impact that it had on the residents in North Louisiana. I am not sure if it will be released in theaters, but here's a trailer for the film that I found at Gary Golden's blog.
