QEP Resources Reports Eleven Haynesville Shale Completions

QEP Resources (QEP) issued an operational update on the company’s acreage in the Haynesville Shale. The company reported the results of eleven wells completed in the Haynesville Shale from May 2010 through July 2010. The well names and peak production rates are as follows:

M. Sanders 9-15-9 H - 10.5 million cubic feet per day (MMCFD)

Conly SR 27H - 14.2 MMCFD

Conly SR 34H -5.1 MMCFD – restricted production due to mechanical problem.

Caplis 30-16-12 H - 10.9 MMCFD

Caplis 4H - 11.5 MMCFD

Nettles 13-15-10 H - 11.9 MMCFD

J. Caplis 5-15-12 H - 11.2 MMCFD

Bienville S&G 11 H - 11.3 MMCFD

Sustainable Forest 23 H - 12.4 MMCFD

Bienville S&G 35-15-9 H -10.5 MMCFD

Bienville S&G 26-15-9 H - 10.0 MMCFD

QEP Resources is operating seven rigs in the play and has production of 178 MMCFD from the Haynesville Shale as of 6/30/2010. The company has a total of 31 wells either being drilled or waiting on completion:

Operated - Eleven wells waiting on completion, and seven being drilled. Non-Operated - Eleven wells waiting on completion, and two being drilled.

Cabot Oil And Gas - Haynesville Shale - Conference Call Comments

Cabot Oil and Gas (COG) reported its earnings for the second quarter of 2010 and held a conference call on July 22, 2010, to discuss the results. The company is active in several major shale plays including the Haynesville Shale.

“In the Haynesville Bossier, as previously announced, Cabot has successfully drilled and completed its second operated horizontal shale well, Walters #1 well. COG had 54%, it was drilled to a depth of 18,946, with a lateral length of 4900 plus feet after 16 stage stimulation, the well, which was placed on production in July 9th and tested at 20 million cubic foot per day.”

“Cabot is also participating in nine outside operated Haynesville Bossier wells that are currently drilling, completing, or waiting on completion with our working interest generally between the 10% to 40% range. Haynesville wells in the area continue to produce at high rates with excellent recoverable reserves.”

Cabot Oil and Gas - Haynesville Shale Update - Q2 2010

Cabot Oil and Gas (COG) issued an operational update on its activities in the Haynesville Shale in Texas and Louisiana.

The company just completed its second horizontal well in the Haynesville Shale. The well produced at a maximum rate of 20.5 million cubic feet per day and at a restricted 24-hour rate of 15.5 million cubic feet per day.

Cabot Oil and Gas said that this Haynesville Shale well was drilled with a lateral length of 4,925 feet and a sixteen stage hydraulic fracturing operation.

Cabot Oil and Gas said that the company has three other wells undergoing completion operations and six other wells either drilling or waiting on completion in the Haynesville Shale.
