St. Mary Land and Exploration Signs Haynesville Shale Agreement

St. Mary Land and Exploration Company (SM) issued an operational update on its activities in the Haynesville Shale, where the company entered into a carry and earning agreement with a third party on 32,000 net acres in East Texas.

The agreement allows the third party to earn 95% of St. Mary’s interest in 8,400 net acres in Shelby County, Texas, and 5% in 23,400 net acres in Shelby and San Augustine Counties. The third party will carry development costs up to $87 million to earn its interest in the Haynesville Shale properties.

Crimson Exploration Updates Haynesville Shale Operations

Crimson Exploration Inc. (CXPO) issued an operational update on its activities in the Haynesville Shale in East Texas. Crimson Exploration is developing acreage in San Augustine County in Texas, and is currently drilling the Grizzly #1. The company expects to begin completion operations in June 2010. Crimson Exploration is also drilling the Halbert Trust #1 well, located 5 miles from the Grizzly #1.

Comstock Resources - Haynesville Shale Update - Part Two

Comstock Resources (CRK) issued an operational update and provided additional information on its acreage in the Haynesville Shale. The company has acreage in the North Toledo Bend Field in Louisiana, and the Waskom Field in Texas.

North Toledo Bend Field

The North Toledo Bend field is located in DeSoto Parish, Louisiana. Comstock Resources drilled the BSMC 1 #1H well to the Haynesville Shale. The well was completed with a 12 stage hydraulic fracturing operation and a 4,471 foot lateral. The well produced at an initial production rate of 9 million cubic feet equivalent per day.

Waskom Field

The Waskom Field is located in Harrison County, Texas. Comstock Resources drilled the Clark H #1H well to the Haynesville Shale. The well was completed with a 18 stage hydraulic fracturing operation, and a 4,261 foot lateral. The well produced at an initial production rate of 12 million cubic feet equivalent per day.
