Comstock Resources - Recent Haynesville Shale Completions - Part Two

Comstock Resources (CRK) released details of four recent completions on its Haynesville Shale properties. Three were located in the Logansport Field and one in the Toledo Bend North Field in DeSoto Parish, Louisiana.

Logansport Field

Colvin-Craner #2H - Drilled to a vertical depth of 11,353 feet and a 4,181 foot horizontal lateral. The well produced at an initial production rate of 21.2 million cubic feet equivalent per day.

Broome #1H - Drilled to a vertical depth of 11,368 feet and a 4,051 foot horizontal lateral. The well produced at an initial production rate of 16.7 million cubic feet equivalent per day.

Weyerhaeuser #2H - Drilled to a vertical depth of 11,493 feet and a 4,181 foot horizontal lateral. The well produced at an initial production rate of 16.2 million cubic feet equivalent per day.

Toledo Bend North Field

BSMC 7 #2H - - Drilled to a vertical depth of 11,174 feet and a 4,441 foot horizontal lateral. The well produced at an initial production rate of 11.6 million cubic feet equivalent per day.

Comstock Resources said that the Colvin-Craner #2H was its best well ever on its Haynesville Shale properties. ___________________________________________________________________

Comstock Resources - Recent Haynesville Shale Completions

Comstock Resources (CRK) released details of three recent completions on its Haynesville Shale properties in the Blocker Field located in Harrison County, Texas.
 
Green #13H – Drilled to a vertical depth of 11,055 feet and a 3,462 foot horizontal lateral. The well produced at an initial production rate of 6.5 million cubic feet equivalent per day.

Cox #1H – Drilled to a vertical depth of 11,120 feet and a 4,181 foot horizontal lateral. The well produced at an initial production rate of 8.2 million cubic feet equivalent per day.

Woods #1H – Drilled to a vertical depth of 11,353 feet and a 4,181 foot horizontal lateral. The well produced at an initial production rate of 8.5 million cubic feet equivalent per day.

All three wells were completed with a ten-stage hydraulic fracturing process. ___________________________________________________________________

Comstock Resources - Haynesville Shale Update

Comstock Resources, Inc. (CRK) has substantial acreage in the Haynesville Shale located in East Texas and North Louisiana, and recently released an operations update on the area.

Comstock Resources said that year to date it has drilled 21 wells (15.8 net) in the Haynesville shale, all of them horizontal. The company has completed 14 of these wells and they produced at an average rate of 11.6 million cubic feet equivalent per day. The balance of the 21 are awaiting completion, and Comstock Resources said it has four other horizontal wells in the Haynesville Shale being drilled.

Comstock Resources also increased the level of its activity in the Haynesville Shale. The company said that it would drill 38 or 29.5 net horizontal Haynesville shale wells in 2009. The previous budget was for 33 or 26.9 net wells. ___________________________________________________________________
