The Haynesville Shale - GMX Resources - Well Results

GMX Resources (GMXR) reported the completion of two wells located in the Haynesville Shale area of Northern Louisiana and East Texas. The wells and the initial production rates are:

Blocker Ware 19H - 8.9 Mmcf per day
Blocker Heirs 12H - 9.4 mmcf per day

The next two wells for GMX Resources are the TJT Simpson 1H, scheduled for completion in late June 2009, and the K 5H, which is scheduled for completion in late July 2009.

Callison 9H - 7.7 Mmcf per day
Bosh 11H- 7.6 Mmcf per day
Baldwin 17H - 8.7 Mmcf per day
Baldwin 14H - 9.2 Mmcf per day

The Haynesville Shale - Comstock Resources

Comstock Resources (CRK) is an exploration and production company with extensive acreage in the Haynesville Shale area. The company has interest in 937 producing wells on 250,000 net acres.

Comstock Resources believes that 70,000 net acres is prospective for the Haynesville Shale. In 2009, the company plans to drill 33 gross (26.9 net) horizontal wells in the Haynesville Shale.

The company estimates its resource potential at 3.3 Tcfe, assuming 80 acre spacing, and reserves of 5 Bcfe per well. ___________________________________________________________________

The Haynesville Shale - EXCO Resources

EXCO Resources (XCO) has a large acreage position in the Haynesville Shale that it is currently directing resources towards. The company has 85,000 net acres and was producing 90 Mmcf per day gross (48 mmcf per day net) from its properties as of May 2009.  EXCO Resources has four rigs developing its acreage in the Haynesville Shale, and plans to add three more this year.

EXCO Resources recently reported the initial production rates of six wells in the Haynesville Shale:

Caddo Parish

Sharp 1 # 1 – 8.8 Mmcf per day.

De Soto Parish

Sammo 18 # 5 – 21.4 Mmcf per day.
Lattin 24 # 4 – 24.2 Mmcf per day.
Oden 30H #6 – 22.9 Mmcf per day.
Cook 28 #1 – 24.9 Mmcf per day.
Moran 27 #6 – 26.1 Mmcf per day.

Exco Resources has released the following completion schedule for the balance of the year:

2Q 2009 – 3
3Q 2009 – 7
4Q 2009 – 6
