Abraxas Petroleum Corporation (AXAS) reported the completion of its first well into the Eagle Ford Shale in Texas. The company has 8,333 net acres in the play and plans to drill four wells here in 2011.
Abraxas Petroleum Corporation said that the T Bird 1H Eagle Ford Shale well produced an average of 5.8 million cubic feet of natural gas and 342 barrels of condensate per day during the first nineteen days under a restricted choke.
The T Bird 1H well was drilled with a 5,700 foot lateral and completed with a fifteen stage hydraulic fracturing operation. This Eagle Ford Shale well was drilled in DeWitt County, Texas, and was drilled by Blue Eagle Energy, LLC, a joint venture between Abraxas Petroleum and Rock Oil Company, LLC.
