Crimson Exploration Reports Eagle Ford Shale Well

Crimson Exploration (CXPO) reported the completion of an Eagle Ford Shale well on its acreage in Zavala County, Texas. 

The KM Ranch #2H well produced at a gross initial rate of 511 barrels of oil equivalent (BOE) per day, with 457 barrel of oil and 326,000 cubic feet of natural gas per day.  This Eagle Ford Shale well was drilled and completed with a 5,250 foot lateral and a 16 stage hydraulic fracturing operation.

Crimson Exploration has 6,550 net acres prospective for the Eagle Ford Shale in Zavala and Dimmit counties in Texas. The company plans to use 7,000 foot laterals on future Eagle Ford Shale wells here.

Sanchez Energy Reports Two Eagle Ford Shale Completions

Sanchez Energy Corporation (SN) reported the completion of two recent wells drilled into the Eagle Ford Shale in Texas.  The company has 91,000 net acres with 750 net drilling locations exposed to this play.

Sanchez Energy Corporation reported that the Barnhart #5H well had average production of 1,318 barrels of oil equivalent (BOE) per day during the first 30 days of production.  The well was drilled with a 5,991 foot lateral and a 17 stage hydraulic fracturing operation.

Sanchez Energy Corporation reported that the Barnhart #6H well had average production of 1,235 BOE per day during the first 30 days of production.  The well was drilled with a 5,998 foot lateral and an 18 stage hydraulic fracturing operation.

Both wells are located at the Palmetto project area in Gonzalez County, Texas.

Abraxas Petroleum Updates Eagle Ford Shale Activity

Abraxas Petroleum (AXAS) released an update on the company’s operations in Texas where it is developing the Eagle Ford Shale. 

Abraxas Petroleum is developing the Eagle Ford Shale through Blue Eagle, a joint venture between the company and Rock Oil Company, LLC.

Abraxas Petroleum recently drilled and completed the Grass Farms 1H well in Atascosa County, Texas.  The well was drilled to a total measured depth of 13,150 feet, with a 5,400 foot lateral, and completed with an eighteen stage hydraulic fracturing operation.

Abraxas Petroleum plans to drill one horizontal well into the Eagle Ford Shale during the fourth quarter of 2011.  The well is located in McMullen County, Texas, on a 2,487 net acre position that the company recently acquired.
