Magnum Hunter Resources Reports Status Of Eagle Ford Shale Wells

Magnum Hunter Resources (MHR) released an operational update on its activities in the Eagle Ford Shale. 

The Southern Hunter #1-H well is located in Gonzales County and is currently being drilled.  The company has scheduled a completion operation on this well in December 2010. Magnum Hunter Resources is the operator of the well and has a 50% working interest in the Southern Hunter #1-H well.

The Cinco Ranch #2-H well is located in Gonzales County and was spud on November 2, 2010.  This is a non-operated well for Magnum Hunter Resources and the company has a 50% working interest in the Cinco Ranch #2-H well.

The Lagunillas Camp #1-H is located in Atascosa County and is currently undergoing a fifteen stage hydraulic fracturing operation.  Magnum Hunter Resources expects first production on November 20, 2010.  This is the company’s first well in Atascosa County and Magnum Hunter Resources has a 100% working interest.

The Lagunillas Camp #2-H is located in Atascosa County and is currently being cleaned up after a completion operation.  The company expects production to be approximately 500 barrels of oil equivalent per day.

Magnum Hunter Resources reported earlier an initial production rate of 605 barrels of oil equivalent per day on the Gonzo Hunter # 1-H well.

Magnum Hunter Resources Updates Eagle Ford Shale Activity

Magnum Hunter Resources (MHR) reported on its oil and gas operations in the Eagle Ford Shale in Texas during the second quarter of 2010.

Magnum Hunter Resources recently finished completion operations on the Gonzo Hunter #1 well located in Gonzales County, Texas, which was the company’s first horizontal well in the Eagle Ford Shale. The company said that it would have production results on the Gonzo Hunter #1 well by the end of September 2010. This Eagle Ford Shale well was drilled to a depth of 13,750 feet and completed with a 4300 foot lateral.

Magnum Hunter Resources has spud the Laqunillas Camp #1H well in Atascosa County, Texas. This is the company’s second horizontal well in the Eagle Ford Shale, and the company plans one more horizontal well here in 2010.

Magnum Hunter Resources has allocated $31 million in capital for the Eagle Ford Shale in 2010, and spent $12 million during the first six months in 2010.
