Hess Corporation - Eagle Ford Shale Comments - Q4 2011 Conference Call

Hess Corporation (HES) held an earnings conference call on January 25, 2012, to discuss the company’s fourth quarter of 2011 and full year earnings.  The company disclosed some additional information on its Eagle Ford Shale operations.

“In the Eagle Ford Shale, we plan to continue to delineate our acreage position, operating a 3-rig program and drilling approximately 25 to 30 wells in 2012.”

“So our current focus remains on continuing to delineate our acreage, particularly the Northeast as we move into 2012. And we're pleased with the results to date. We've got 109,000 net acres in the Eagle Ford. We've drilled 29 wells. We've got 22 completed and on production now, 18 with 30-day initial production rates, and those are ranging between 350 and 650 barrels per day, with an average of about 500 barrels per day. So, so far, so good on the Eagle Ford.”

Hess Corp - Q4 2010 Conference Call - Eagle Ford Shale Comments

Hess Corp (HES) reported earnings for the fourth quarter of 2010 and held a conference call with the investment community to discuss the results.  The company disclosed additional data on its planned activity in the Eagle Ford Shale in 2011.

“In the Eagle Ford shale play in South Texas, we acquired about 90,000 net acres in 2010, primarily focused in the condensate window. We have already drilled three wells and results thus far have been encouraging, with good shows and log response. Over the course of the year, we plan to drill an additional 15 wells.”

“I don't really want to comment exactly where we are because we're competitively trying to acquire acreage still around our positions. Regarding wells, we've drilled three. Those are exploration kind of delineation wells. We'll drill three more exploration delineation wells. And then we're planning about a dozen development wells on top of that next year.”

“Eagle Ford Shale wells are going to be a mix of condensate and gas. But we don't know until we have the wells flowing.”

Hess Corporation - Eagle Ford Shale Q3 2010 Conference Call Comments

Hess Corporation (HES) held a conference call on October 27, 2010, to discuss earnings for the third quarter of 2010.  The company made several comments on its activities in the Eagle Ford Shale.

“Let me talk about the Eagle Ford Shale...we are building and have been building a position in the Eagle Ford Shale. We have about 75,000 net acres as we speak under a contract and our plans are to begin drilling in November in the Eagle Ford Shale and if we can get additional acreage we'll expand that position further."

“It's early days in the Eagle Ford Shale I guess what I will say is we are firmly in a condensate window and our plan is to drill six wells starting in November just to being accessing the acreage after that then we will make a decision on how to expand the ramp up after we get those initial six wells drilled.”
