Swift Energy Reports On Eagle Ford Shale Activity

Swift Energy (SFY) updated its operations in the Eagle Ford Shale for the second quarter of 2010. The company drilled the Hayes 1H, San Miguel Ranch 1H, Discher 1-H and PCQ #4H wells in McMullen County, Texas during the quarter.

The Hayes 1H was completed with a seven stage hydraulic fracturing operation and had an initial production rate of 336 barrels of oil per day and 500,000 cubic feet per day of natural gas.

The San Miguel Ranch 1H was completed with a twelve stage hydraulic fracturing operation and had an initial production rate of 775 barrels of oil per day and 1.1 million cubic feet per day of natural gas.

The Discher 1-H well was completed with a fourteen stage hydraulic fracturing operation, and initial production is expected shortly. Swift Energy reported that the PCQ #4H well is currently being completed.

Swift Energy Moves Forward On Eagle Ford Shale Development

Swift Energy (SFY) has initiated the company’s development program in the Eagle Ford Shale in Texas, and reported the results of 3 recent wells completed on its acreage. The company has 75,000 net acres prospective for the Eagle Ford Shale.

The wells, location and initial production rates are as follows:

Fasken EF 1H – Webb County – 9.4 million cubic feet per day of natural gas.

PCQ 1H - McMullen County – 1.1 million cubic feet per day of natural gas, and 1,134 barrels of oil per day.

Bracken JV 1H - McMullen County – 9.0 million cubic feet per day of natural gas.

Swift Energy is currently completing the Hayes 1H Eagle Ford Shale well, located in McMullen County. The company is also drilling an additional 2 wells in the area.
