Petrohawk Energy (HK) issued an operational update on its activities in Texas, where the company is working to develop the Eagle Ford Shale. The company is active in three project areas, including the Red Hawk project, where it has 50,000 net acres under lease.
Petrohawk Energy has decided to increase development of the Red Hawk project area as the Mustang Ranch "C" #1H has performed better than expected. The company estimates the estimated ultimate recovery to be 200,000 barrels of oil. The Chaparrosa Ranch "D" #1H well, the company’s third well at Red Hawk, is currently flowing back hydraulic fracturing fluid.
Petrohawk Energy estimates that 125 million barrels oil may be recoverable on its acreage at Red Hawk, and the company plans five more wells in 2011 at this Eagle Ford Shale project area.
