Comstock Resources (CRK) reported on its development activity in the Eagle Ford Shale during the first half of 2011. The company drilled six net wells into the Eagle Ford Shale and completed four wells. These four wells had an average initial production rate of 870 barrels of oil equivalent (BOE) per day.
Comstock Resources said that the Hill #1H well had an initial production rate of 1,095 BOE per day, composed of 865 barrels of oil and 1.4 million cubic feet of natural gas per day. The Hill #1H well was drilled with a 5,147 foot lateral into the Eagle Ford Shale.
Comstock Resources is currently completing the Cutter Creek #1H well. The company also said that the Forrest Wheeler #1H and Rancho Tres Hijos "A" #1H wells have been drilled and are awaiting completion.
