Meridian Resource Corporation Reports Completion Of Eagle Ford Shale Well

The Meridian Resource Corporation (TMR) reported the results of a well drilled into the Eagle Ford Shale. A third party drilled the well, and Meridian Resource Corporation has a 2% royalty interest in the well.

This Eagle Ford Shale well was producing between 1,300 and 1,550 barrels of oil per day and 1.2 million cubic feet of natural gas per day during the first two weeks of operation.

The well was drilled to a vertical depth of 11,900 feet, and completed with a 5,000 foot lateral and a 15 stage hydraulic fracturing operation. This Eagle Ford Shale well is located in Karnes County, Texas.

St. Mary Land and Exploration - Eagle Ford Shale Update

St. Mary Land and Exploration (SM) presented at a recent Energy conference and updated its operations in the Eagle Ford Shale in Texas.

St. Mary Land and Exploration has a total of 250,500 acres under net lease in the Eagle Ford Shale in Texas. The company is involved with a joint venture with Anadarko Petroleum (APC) and has 82,500 net acres in that joint venture. This acreage is mostly in the liquids rich northern part of the Eagle Ford Shale, and St. Mary Land and Exploration’s average working interest is approximately 25%.

St. Mary Land and Exploration also has 168,000 net acres outside of the joint venture in the Eagle Ford Shale. The company plans to drill 34 gross wells here in 2010.

St. Mary Land and Exploration has allocated $216 million in capital in the Eagle Ford Shale for exploration and drilling.

Petrohawk Energy Updates Operations In Eagle Ford Shale - Black Hawk Prospect

Petrohawk Energy (HK) is presenting today at the Howard Weil conference in New Orleans, and the company has updated its operations in the Black Hawk prospect in the Eagle Ford Shale.

Petrohawk Energy said that it now has 53,000 net acres under lease in the Black Hawk prospect, which is located in DeWitt County in Texas. The company estimates that its drilling and completion costs will be approximately $6.5 million per well in this part of the Eagle Ford Shale.

Petrohawk Energy reported the results of the Krause #1H well, which was completed with a 3,025 foot lateral and a 12 stage hydraulic fracturing operation. The well had an initial production rate of 3.3 million cubic feet per day of natural gas, and 1,150 barrels of condensate per day. The Krause #1H well averaged 3 million cubic feet per day of natural gas and 960 barrels of condensate per day for the first 30 days of operation.

Petrohawk Energy is currently completing the Lanik #1-H well, also in the Black Hawk prospect in the Eagle Ford Shale.
