EOG Resources Reports Nine Barnett Shale Combo Completions

EOG Resources (EOG) reported on the development of the Barnett Combo play in the Fort Worth Basin in Texas.  The company is active in Cooke and Montague counties and disclosed the results of nine wells completed during the second quarter of 2011.

Cooke County

The Gaedke A Unit #3H, Gaedke A Unit #4H, Gaedke B Unit #5H, Gaedke B Unit #6H and Gaedke B Unit #7H had production rates ranging from 338 to 696 barrels of oil per day, along with 807,000 to 2.15 million cubic feet of natural gas per day.

Montague County

The Stoddard A Unit #1H, Stoddard B Unit #2H, Stoddard C Unit #3H and Stoddard D Unit #4H had production rates ranging from 777 to 918 barrels of oil per day, along with 1.2 million cubic to 2.6 million cubic feet of natural gas per day.

Quicksilver Resources Updates Barnett Shale Operations

Quicksilver Resources (KWK) reported earnings for the second quarter of 2010, ending 6/30/2010, and discussed the company’s operations in the Barnett Shale in Texas. The company has a large inventory of uncompleted wells in the Barnett Shale and has the option to use any extra capital to reduce this inventory during the balance of 2010.

“On the operational front we currently have four rigs running in the Barnett Shale. We have added one rig on a temporary basis to drill in Lake Arlington area following the receipt of permits and rights of way that we had expected at the beginning of the year."

"The company still expects to drill and complete a total of 80 wells in the Basin in 2010. Company also expects to complete at least 25 additional wells from its existing inventory of drill, but uncompleted wells.”

Quicksilver Resources - Barnett Shale - Second Quarter 2010 Update

Quicksilver Resources (KWK) reported earnings for the second quarter of 2010, and updated its activities in the Barnett Shale in Texas. The company had 162,000 net acres under lease in the Barnett Shale at the end of 2009.

Quicksilver Resources drilled 26 gross, or 22.4 net wells, and connected 29 gross, or 25.1 net wells to sales during second quarter of 2010. The company is operating four rigs currently in the Barnett Shale.

The capital plan adopted by Quicksilver Resources calls for the drilling and completion of 80 wells during 2010. The company will also complete another 25 wells from the company’s inventory of uncompleted Barnett Shale wells during 2010.
