QEP Resources (QEP) issued an operational update on the company’s acreage in the Woodford Shale. The company is focused on the Cana Woodford Shale and recently reported the results of a well completion on its acreage there.
The Virgie 1-13H Woodford Shale well was put onto sales in June 2010, and produced at a peak daily rate of 3.7 million cubic feet per day of natural gas, 619 barrels of natural gas liquids and 242 barrels per day of oil. QEP Resources has two operated wells being drilled, and one well waiting on completion.
QEP Resources has 68,000 net acres in the Cana Woodford Shale, with 42,000 net acres in the tier one area and 24,000 net acres in the tier two area of the play. The company has indicated that the core area of the Cana Woodford Shale is expanding as productive wells outside the core area are found.
