Rosetta Resources issued an operations update on its activity in the Bakken Shale in the Alberta Basin. The company has 254,000 net acres in the Alberta Basin Bakken Shale. The company drilled three vertical test wells on different parts of its acreage, and encountered oil-bearing formations in the Lodgepole, Bakken, Three Forks and Nisku intervals.
Rosetta Resources said that based on these three wells, the original oil in place (OGIP) is estimated at between 12.5 and 15.3 million barrels oil equivalent (BOE) per square mile. One of the wells that Rosetta Resources drilled was the Tribal Gunsight #31-16H. This well was drilled to a total depth of 9,206 feet, and completed with a 4,100-foot lateral.
