Kodiak Oil & Gas (KOG) reported the completion of a well testing the Bakken Shale in Dunn County, North Dakota. The Tall Bear #16-15-16H produced at a rate of only 100 barrels oil equivalent per day, a level that was not considered to be commercial.
The Tall Bear #16-15-16H was located on the eastern edge of its acreage in Dunn County, and the company believes that this defines the eastern limit of the play in that area. Kodiak Oil & Gas is awaiting the completion of the Moccasin Creek #16-3-11H and the Moccasin Creek MC #16-3H. Details on these two wells testing the Bakken Shale will be released in the first quarter of 2010.
Kodiak Oil & Gas (KOG) has 35,000 net acres prospective for the Bakken Shale play located on the Fort Berthold Indian Reservation in Dunn County, North Dakota.
