Northern Oil and Gas (NOG) reported earnings for the fourth quarter of 2009 and updated its operational activity in the Bakken Shale in North Dakota and Montana. The company added acreage to its Bakken Shale holdings in three separate transactions.
11/3/2009 - Northern Oil and Gas purchased 11,274 net acres in McKenzie and Williams Counties in North Dakota. The company will start drilling this acreage in 2011 in a joint venture with Slawson Exploration Company.
11/13/2009 - Northern Oil and Gas purchased 11,586 net acres in the Big Sky Project in Richland County, Montana. Slawson Exploration Company and Northern Oil and Gas drilled the Vandal 1-16H and the well is awaiting completion.
11/17/2009 - Northern Oil and Gas purchased 12,500 net acres in the Anvil Project in Williams County, North Dakota and Roosevelt County, Montana. Slawson Exploration Company operates the Anvil Project and the two companies recently drilled the Mayhem 1-19H, which is awaiting completion.
Northern Oil and Gas also leased 5289 net acres in the Bakken Shale through a series of other transactions.
