Kodiak Oil and Gas (KOG) updated operations in the Williston Basin where the company is developing the Bakken formation on its acreage.
Kodiak Oil and Gas is currently operating four rigs in the basin and plans to add a fifth rig during the final quarter of 2011. Two rigs are operating in the Dunn County, North Dakota, and one each in the Koala and Smokey Project areas in McKenzie County, North Dakota.
Kodiak Oil and Gas also participates on a non operating basis on Bakken wells here, and has an interest in 45 gross, or 21.5 net producing wells in the Williston Basin.
Kodiak Oil and Gas recently completed the Koala #3-2-11-13H and Koala #3-2-11-14H Bakken wells and expects to put the wells onto production shortly. The company expects to start completion operations on 6.5 net Bakken wells during the third quarter 2011.
