Enerplus Resources Fund (ERF) has completed six wells to date into the Bakken Shale on its acreage at the Fort Berthold Indian Reservation in North Dakota. The company reported the following production rates on those six wells segmented by lateral length:
Four short lateral wells – 30 day average production of 800 barrels of oil per day, and 60 day average production of 650 barrels of oil per day.
Two long lateral wells – 30 day average production of 1,190 barrels of oil per day, and 60 day average production of 1,100 barrels of oil per day.
Enerplus Resources Fund said that the six wells were drilled with lateral lengths from 4,300 to 9,000 feet and completed with 12 to 24 stage hydraulic fracturing operations.
